The "Scientific Publications" company constantly monitors and analyzes information important to the research community, so for the convenience of scientists, we have prepared a list of Scopus/Web of Science journals in Azerbaijan.

Scopus: list of journals

To compile the list of Scopus journals in Azerbaijan, materials from the scientometric database, information from scientific journal profiles, and data from Scimago Journal Rank were used.

The Scopus journals of Azerbaijan listed in the table can be viewed by:

• Journal title.
• ISSN.
• Indexing.
• SNIP indicator.
• Quartile (Q) by CiteScore.
• Research discipline.

In addition, the table contains links to the page of each listed journal and the homepage of Azerbaijani journals included in Scopus.

Azerbaijani journals in Web of Science

To compile the list of journals included in Web of Science, data from the Web of Science Core Collection, Master Journal List, and Journal Citation Reports databases were used.

The Web of Science journal list can be sorted by:

• Source title.
• ISSN.
• Indexing.
• Impact Factor (indicating the Web of Science Core Collection citation index).
• Journal Citation Indicator.
• Journal Quartile (Q).
• Discipline of knowledge.

Each Azerbaijani journal included in Web of Science is accompanied by a link to its page in the Master Journal List and the journal’s homepage.

How can scientists use the data presented in the table?

Having information about the list of Azerbaijani journals in Scopus and Web of Science, scientists will be able to plan their scientific activities more productively and efficiently, which will ensure:

• The ability to successfully select the most suitable scientific publication for their work.
• A better understanding of the scientific potential of the selected journal.
• Evaluate the research potential of the region and the dynamics of changes in scientometric indicators of specific journals.
• Increase the country's overall publication statistics by publishing high-quality scientific articles.
• Assess the possibility of publication in the national language and form a list of Russian-language journals in Scopus, allowing researchers to avoid translating their work into English.

Azerbaijani journals included in Scopus

The scientometric database Scopus indexes thousands of scientific publications from various fields of knowledge and scientific disciplines. What is required for a journal to be included in Scopus? To be listed, it must meet strict quality criteria and go through stages of submission, review, clarification, decision revision, and communication.

The inclusion of a journal in Scopus does not mean that no further work is needed. On the contrary, a more serious and thorough stage begins, involving constant selection of high-quality content, adherence to ethical standards, scientometric indicators, and more.

Furthermore, Scopus conducts constant monitoring of the quality of scientific publications and removes journals from the database monthly. Therefore, selecting a journal for publication must be done with particular care.

Сегодня список журналов, входящих в Скопус в Азербайджане не очень широк, но там уже индексируются авторитетных и качественные издания с разных дисциплин знаний. Это свидетельствует о развитии научного потенциала страны и является показателем качества исследований. Также стоит отметить, что размещено большинство издательств этих журналов Scopus в Баку.

Web of Science: list of journals

Web of Science is one of the most global scientometric databases, with citation depth reaching back to 1900. Its core is the Web of Science Core Collection, which includes 7 citation indexes, 4 of which are journal indexes. For a publication to be included in one of these indexes, it must meet 24 quality criteria. Additionally, if it meets 4 influence criteria, the journal will be included in a higher-rated citation index.

Азербайджанские журналы в Web of Science представлены в Emerging Sources Citation Index и Science Citation Index Expanded. Многие из таких изданий демонстрируют положительную тенденцию смены наукометрических показателей, что способствует повышению их рейтинговости в последующее время.
