The head of "Scientific Publications" in Azerbaijan, Dmitry Priymak, gave an exclusive interview to Azerbaijani media report.az, in which he spoke in detail about the support of scientists, the growing interest in scientific consulting in Azerbaijan, the company's plans for the future and much more. Interview with Dmitry Pryimak: Scientific Consulting in Azerbaijan
Dmitry Pryimak, head of "Scientific Publications", noted that Azerbaijan is actively developing the sphere of science and education, which contributes to the increasing demand for scientific in international scientific databases. He emphasised that for a successful career of a scientist it is extremely important to publish in reputable journals indexed by Scopus and Web of Science, as it affects not only the visibility of the research, but also the scientific reputation.
Special attention in the interview was paid to the risks that scientists may face when co-operating with dubious intermediaries. The head emphasised that many such companies offer services for quick placement of articles for a low price, but the result can be extremely negative - from publication in ‘predatory’ journals to loss of reputation.
In addition, Dmitry Priymakexplained how Scientific Publications helps scientists without violating scientific ethics.
"It is important to understand that our services include assistance in selecting the right journal, article design and its verification for compliance with the requirements of the publication, academic translation, plagiarism checking, as well as accompanying the scientist at all stages of publication.
These services do not violate scientific ethics, but contribute to improving the quality of scientific articles, help scientists understand the publication process and integrate into the global scientific community".
He also noted that the company not only helps with publications in verified journals, but also organises educational initiatives such as webinars and workshops on scientometrics to improve the quality of scientific papers.
When asked about future plans, Dmitry Pryimak said that Scientific Publications aims to open a physical office in Baku to strengthen its presence in the Azerbaijani market and provide scientists with more immediate assistance. Also, the company will continue to actively work with universities around the world, concluding memoranda of co-operation and supporting scientific initiatives.
