Within the framework of the previously signed memorandum of cooperation between the "Scientific Publications" company and the Azerbaijan Academy of Labour and Social Relations, a meeting was held with the staff of the university.
Denis Pilipenko, the founder of "Scientific Publications" company, paid a working visit to the Academy and made a report on modern trends in the field of scientific publications both in Azerbaijan and in the international context.
During the speech, special attention was paid to the growing importance of scientific publications in the development of researchers. According to Denis Pilipenko, publications in highly rated scientific journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science databases become not only an indicator of scientific productivity, but also an important factor in making decisions on career advancement, awarding grants, as well as the formation of differentiated salaries.
One of the key aspects touched upon in the report was the Hirsch index – a scientometric indicator reflecting not only the number of publications of an author, but also their citation. This index is now actively used in assessing the effectiveness of scientific activity, including at the international level, and directly affects the academic reputation of a researcher.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the role of publication activity in strengthening the position of universities in international academic rankings, such as the National H-index Ranking, QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education. Publications in prestigious journals contribute to the academic prestige of an institution, increase its visibility in the global scientific space and open new opportunities for international co-operation and attracting talented students and teachers.
The partnership between "Scientific Publications" and the Azerbaijan Academy of Labour and Social Relations is aimed at developing scientific activity, strengthening the publication potential and promoting the integration of Azerbaijani scientists into the global scientific community.
